What is this site?
This is an unofficial reference for NEET-UG counselling closing ranks, compiled from allotment results published by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, Government of India on mcc.nic.in. We are not affiliated with MCC or NTA. Use this site for research and always verify against MCC's own publications before making counselling decisions.
Which counselling does this site cover, and what is NOT covered?
We cover MCC's centralised counselling: the 15% All India Quota in government medical and dental colleges, plus deemed universities, central universities, ESIC and related seats. The 85% state quota, which each state counsels separately, is NOT in our data. If you are targeting your own state's quota seats, you must check your state counselling authority's cutoffs separately.
How do I read the closing rank shown here?
The closing rank is the highest (worst) NEET All India Rank actually allotted a seat at that college in that category, quota and round. MCC's allotment PDFs contain ranks, not marks, so we cannot show marks-based cutoffs. If your AIR is numerically smaller than the closing rank, a candidate at your rank level got that seat that year.
What do the category codes mean?
UR is Unreserved (General); OBC is Other Backward Classes (NCL, central list); SC is Scheduled Caste; ST is Scheduled Tribe; EWS is Economically Weaker Section (appearing from 2021 in AIQ). Any code ending in PWD (like UR_PWD or OBC_PWD) is the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities sub-quota within that category.
What are the quota classes like AIQ, DEEMED_PAID, NRI and CENTRAL_UNIV?
AIQ is the 15% All India Quota in state government colleges. DEEMED_PAID is the paid/management-style seats in deemed universities (much higher fees, much more relaxed closing ranks). NRI is the NRI quota, mainly in deemed universities. CENTRAL_UNIV covers central institutions such as AMU, BHU and Delhi university colleges, and ESIC covers ESIC medical colleges' insured-persons quota. Never compare your rank against a quota you are not eligible for or cannot afford.
What is the round structure in MCC counselling?
MCC runs Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, followed by stray vacancy rounds (and in some years mop-up and special stray rounds, mainly for deemed/leftover seats). Exact round names vary by year; for example 2023 and 2025 even show a Round 5 in the published files. The year-level cutoff we show is from the last round, and per-round closing ranks are available in the round-wise data.
Do closing ranks relax in later rounds?
Usually yes for deemed universities and less sought-after colleges, because upgrades and exits free seats. But for top government colleges under AIQ, closing ranks can actually tighten in Round 2 as more high-rankers join or upgrade into them. Check the round-wise numbers for your target college instead of assuming later rounds are always easier.
Which years does this site cover?
We cover MCC counselling from 2019 through 2025, spanning roughly 365 colleges in 2019 to over 700 in 2025 as more institutions joined MCC counselling. Coverage includes MBBS and BDS, and from 2021 onward BSc Nursing seats also appear in MCC data.
Are there known gaps or quirks in the data?
Yes, be aware of these: state quota (85%) is absent by design; there are no marks-based cutoffs because MCC PDFs publish ranks only; and in some years a portion of rows could not be mapped to a standard category (notably 2021 and 2025 have a significant number of unknown-category rows from irregular PDF formats). Where a category shows as UNKNOWN, use the college's overall pattern and MCC's original PDF.
Why do deemed university closing ranks look so 'bad' (very large)?
Deemed universities charge high fees (often 20 lakh or more per year), so demand at those ranks is driven by budget more than merit. A deemed college closing at rank 8-10 lakh does not mean it is easy to get a government seat at that rank. Always read deemed (DEEMED_PAID and NRI) cutoffs separately from AIQ cutoffs.
Can I predict this year's cutoff from last year's closing rank?
Only roughly. NEET ranks at a given marks level shift every year with the number of test-takers and paper difficulty, and seat matrices grow as new colleges join. Compare 2-3 years of closing ranks for the same college-category-quota, and remember that rank inflation means the same closing rank represents different marks in different years.
Does a blank cell mean I cannot get that college?
No. A blank means no allotment was recorded for that specific category-quota combination at that college in that round, which can happen when there are very few or no seats in that combination. You may still be considered under UR/open competition, since reserved-category candidates compete there on merit too.
Is AIIMS/JIPMER included? What about private state colleges?
Institutes counselled through MCC's portal appear in our data under their respective quota classes, including central institutions in the years they were part of MCC counselling. Private colleges counselled by state authorities (under state quota or state private counselling) are not included, since those seats are outside MCC's published allotments.
How should I verify a number before relying on it?
Open the corresponding round's allotment result on mcc.nic.in (current events or archive section) and search for the college and category. MCC re-publishes corrected PDFs at times, and our parsing of large PDFs can occasionally misread a row. This site is a convenience layer over official data, and mcc.nic.in is always the authority.
